A bag that’s suitable for work, play and travel? Try the Knomo Audley and #LiveFree

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with bags.

As I work on the move and travel a lot, finding a handbag to fit my busy lifestyle can be a pain. I regularly go from the office, to work on location, and I often take the same bag to drinks with friends or to visit my family in Spain.

Most of all, I hate having to pack and unpack every day, so my struggle is finding a stylish bag big enough to fit everything essential in, without it being a suitcase or a hideous Ikea-style hold-all!

I’ve already written about Knomo for The Telegraph, but about a clutch called the Knomad and their amazing power banks that slot perfectly into the bag’s lining or pockets. So when I was asked to find a Knomo bag that suited my lifestyle, I had a firm objective: sleek, stylish, but big and practical enough to fit everything in, including my laptop.

My laptop is that colourful rectangle at the back (FYI)

I opted for the Mayfair Luxe range which has an emphasis on organising your daily essentials in luxury full grain leather. Sleek? Tick.

After a few hours browsing (they’re all so pretty!), I settled on the Audley

It then took me another hour to decide on the colour. I was torn between Chilli Red and the Black I settled for, purely because it goes with more of my wardrobe. (Writing this, I wish I’d been a bit more daring and gone for the red!)

I was really excited to wear it to work. Pippa Middleton was spotted out and about with a Knomo laptop case, and the range has been featured in Vogue, so it feels fabulously fashionable. Stylish? Tick.

The Audley fits a laptop of up to 14 inches so is perfect for my Macbook Air. Inside there are two main sections, next to the laptop section, as well as zip pockets and pouches for your phone, pens and any credit/debit/business cards.

On the outside, there are two zip pockets, perfect for easy access to essentials such as a phone or passport, and on the back, there is a sleeve that pops open, which I find perfect for briefing papers.

The bag comes with two handles for sliding on your arm or a detachable long strap for when you’re in a rush. Big and practical? Tick, Tick!

The bag is expensive at £329, so not something I would normally buy for myself, but the leather was great quality and the lining is presumable the key cost.

The Audley has RFID lining which protects whatever is inside it –  phones, laptops, tablets, bank cards, and even passports – from identity theft. An unusual feature, but one that is only going to become more important in the future.

One hitch was that before I had even tried my bag out, one of the buttons broke off the side. A little disappointing at that price.

And finally, my favourite (and most unique) feature of  Knomo bags: their tracking ID. You can register the bag on your website and, if it gets lost and some kind saviour finds it, they can return it to you – genius!

The Audley is available for £329 here and you can find the full Knomo collection over at www.knomobags.com.
