Stella & Dot Accessories – My Fall 2017 picks

Autumn is approaching quickly. Too quickly… The weather is colder, the days are shorter and we are all in need of a little treat to numb the pain.

In a recent post, I wrote about how much I love personalised things. Notebooks, slippers, prints – anything. It is just a way of adding that special touch. And my accessories are no exception.

One of the best things about jewellery is that you can engrave it! A little reminder to wear with you. Whether that’s your initials, or someone else’s, it can make for a one-off piece that is extra special for those who own it.

Stella & Dot have a gorgeous ‘Bespoke’ range of customisable accessories, that you can add a personal touch to.

The company was founded by an amazing and inspiring woman, Jessica Herrin, who launched the brand out of her own living room. It was created “with a simple mission: to help women be their own boss, on their own terms.” What’s not to like?

I love their delicate bar necklaces, where you can customise the bar with initials, names, a word or geographic coordinates. I went for the latter as I have seen hundreds of name/DOB and initial accessories but have never seen coordinates as a way of personalising jewellery.

Having a little memento of a secret spot (especially one that holds fond memories) printed close to your heart is a great idea.

I picked Burrator Reservoir, the countryside where I used to play as a child. On the weekend, my sister and I used to roll our trousers up, paddle in the stream, collect pebbles and spy on wild ponies.

Gold Bar Necklace – £65
16″ with 3″ extender
Lobster Clasp Closure
Gold Plated Brass

The second customised accessory I picked was a signet ring. I love the idea of having a family crest but 1. my family aren’t that fancy and 2. they’re EXPENSIVE. When presented with the option of designing my own, I thought: “Might as well make a new name for yourself!”

So, I went for my initials “C-C”, keeping things nice and simple.

Bespoke Signet Ring Size – £55
5-9 Shiny gold plated brass
Pouch included, colour may vary

The rings only come in size J upwards, which sadly wasn’t small enough for my pinkie finger, where you traditionally wear it. The ring finger will have to do!

Also, after a couple of days of wearing it, the ring’s face became scratched – but maybe that says more about my clumsiness than anything!

Even the packaging is flattering!

I still often find myself scrolling through the range, discovering more accessories I would love to own or give to somebody else.

So, if you fancy a little treat or (even better) if you want to spoil somebody else with something thoughtful, Stella & Dot is a great shout. Now, you just have to decide what to put on it!

I was gifted these items for the purposes of the review but all opinions are my own
